My President Report & More
April 22nd, 2008Hi Everyone!
Our April meeting was a bang-up success!
We had a good attendance with a mixture of new and
long time members!
Three local members signed up to be official members
of the International Brotherhood of Magicians!
Two youths and one adult!
Here’s a little run down what happened.
Our officer meeting started promptly at 4:30 p.m. and
ran into the general meeting at 5:00 p.m.
At this point I am President/Secretary/Treasurer!
Cliff Wollin agreed to be Vice President and in charge
of sending all members a monthly newsletter.
If anyone would like to step up and be our Ring
Secretary, it would be greatly appreciated!
To be secretary you have to a member of the
International the Brotherhood of Magicians for one
year and a member of the local Ben Bergor Ring #31
Magic Club for one year.
Please feel free to email or call me any time to
discuss this urgent matter!
Ring #31 wants you, in fact I want you. With my busy
schedule I can’t do everything myself!
Your duties would be taking notes at business
meetings, writing a ring report to be sent to the
International Brotherhood of Magicians and helping
Cliff and I with general meeting duties.
We discussed many issues to improve the club and make
it a great place to attend every month.
We talked about getting a hard-core lecture group
going again where we all chip in $20 to get good
lectures to come to the club.
If you’d be interested in this please me know.
We had a celebrity in our midst with Lochlan Masters
performing on the tonight show with Jeff Lang.
Lochlan Masters talked about his red carpet treatment
at the Magic Castle. Ask him to tell you his fantastic
story!
It was nice to see Andy Hagen!
Andy is a long time member and helped keep the club
going for many, many years. We appreciate Andy’s many
years of hard work and dedication to the club!
At the end of the meeting we had a surprise farewell
cake, card and gifts for John Coppin and his lovely
wife Carol.
John and Carol are moving to Arizona in May.
They will be sadly missed by everyone here!
After the meeting we went right into our show.
And what a show it was!
Our theme was “Magic with Everyday Objects.”
Here’s a run down who performed:
Lochlan Masters, John Coppin, Tom Krzystoff, Jake
Sachse, G-Ball, Jon Staats, Dave Schumacher & yours
truly. Sorry if I misspelled anyone’s names.
The show ran well over 30 minutes and covered
everything from cards to card ducks!
Our next meeting will be Sunday, May 11.
Where: J.T. Whitneys,
Time: 4:30 Officers Meeting,
General Business Meeting, 5:00 p.m.
6:00 p.m. Program
The theme for May is “Self Working and Easy Card
Miracles!”
Please plan on performing at least one effect if you
come.
It’s a great place to work out your new routines or
just do some of your favorites.
If you haven’t join the International Brotherhood of
Magicians please give it your serious consideration.
There are many options available.
You may attend two meetings but you must be a member
of the International Brotherhood of Magicians to
attend monthly meetings.
Please check out http://www.magician.org/portal/ to
find out more about the world’s greatest magic
organization.
The membership form is online.
You have many different options.
Think of it this way. It costs less than a tank of gas
to join!
If you haven’t paid your local dues yet the fee is
$12 per year.
In this day and age that’s a bargain!
Where else can you hang out with people that love
magic.
You also have the availability of a fantastic magic
video library and many other benifits!
We need you to keep magic alive and well in Madison,
Wisconsin!
Please feel free to call me any time at 274-9411 or
email me at

Magically Yours,
Wayne the Wizard - President/Treasurer & Secretary
